SOUND DESIGNER Preparing for the Show
1. Obtain a copy of the script and read it.
2. Make careful note of all types of sounds required for the show.
3. Confer with the director about various sounds and music to be sued in the show and agree upon style and approach.
4. Attend all Production Staff Meetings.
5. Prepare a detailed sound plot of every sound in the show, it's duration and the cues on which it will be called. (See: Sound Cue Sheet)
6. Train the Sound Operator(s) in use of the board.
7. Supervise and schedule any THA11 students working on sound.
8. Assemble all sounds needed to complete the sound plot..
9. Prepare a working copy of the sound plot and play it for the director.
10. Prepare or supervise preparation of final performance Min-CD and back-up.
11. Attend the Technical Rehearsal and Cue to Cue. After each rehearsal make any necessary changes in the Sound Plot.
12. Attend Dress Rehearsals. After each rehearsal make any necessary changes in the Sound Plot.
13. Attend Strike at the end of the production.
14. Complete evaluation of THA11 students (see appendix II) and turn in to Dr. Cummins on or before Monday after strike.
