WHAT graduate of this department won an EMMY??

 Melissa Bayles, a 2004 graduate soon accepted a position at television station WYFF-4 the NBC affiliate in Greenville, She soon worked her way up to the position of Producer. She currently produces the Noon and Weekend Morning news and is responsible for story assignments, programming the broadcasts and a majority of the writing for the programs.

A news story she produced was nominated for a regional Emmy award.

It was a 2006 Southeastern Regional Emmy Award.

Melissa produced the story. Michael Cogdill was the reporter and the photographer was J.L. Watkins. They were in a category of five nominees and all won an Emmy for the story!

Melissa has told us that she does not think she would have risen so fast in the television stations organization had she not had the confidence she gained from the multiple stage management assignments she had in the department.... along with the discipline of the many other jobs she did in our production program and classes.
