Who participated in the final Theatre Darts game of the 25th Anniversary season??

(L to R) Jay Oney (one of the Founders of the League),
Brian Hendrix, Doug Cummins &
Rhett Bryson (another of the Founders)

The tradition of Furman Theatre Theatre Darts goes back to 1976 and the aftermath of the production of "Last Meeting of the Knights of the White Magnolia." A feature of the set for that show (which was in a decrepit 2nd floor of an old Texas hotel) was a ragged old dart board hung on the back of a door. The cast for the show took to playing darts in intervals between rehearsals and after the show closed, decided to hang the dart board in the shop to continue the "brotherhood" of dart playing. A "golf" dart game was selected as the game of choice and it was soon obvious that a printed score sheet was necessary to keep up with the scores.

The Furman Theatre Darts score Sheet #0!!!!
The very FIRST score sheet - now 25 years old!
(Are we pack rats or what?)
For the record: The FIRST official game was played
by Jay Oney, Ike Maddox and Rhett Bryson (Jay won,
Rhett was Second Winner.)

Now, 25 years later, we wrap up another successful season of Theatre Darts. The game continues to add traditions, harassments and players. We now have the civilized touch of a cup of espresso to begin the game each morning. This daily ritual/social occasion will continue into its 26th season in the Fall of 2001. Students, faculty and alumni are ALWAYS welcome.
