The Curtain Call of the Saturday, November 7th performance of Night of the Iguana was stopped and Gladys McCorkle was brought onto the stage and presented a certificate allowing her free admission to all future Drama department productions.
A proclamation was read commending her for the 30 years of faithful service to the Department. The document, which will be framed and hung in the lobby of The Playhouse names the lobby the Gladys McCorkle Lobby. The ceremony was a complete surprise for Gladys. Many in the audience recognized Gladys from her years of service to the theatre and there was a sustained and warm applause - from audience, cast and crew.
