FURMAN MEN'S, WOMEN'S SOCCER COMBINE FOR MOST WINS IN NATION

GREENVILLE, SC -- The combined records of the Southern Conference champion men's and women's soccer programs at Furman produce the second-best winning percentage in the nation. In addition, the Furman men's and women's soccer programs, who have combined for 38 wins this season, have more wins than any school in the nation.

The Furman men's soccer team is ranked fourth in the nation and is 18-1-1 on the year. The Furman women's soccer team advanced to the NCAA Tournament and concluded their season 20-3. Both teams went undefeated in the league and won both the regular season and tournament titles.

The men's team will host Radford in an NCAA Play-In match Saturday at 6 p.m.

The Furman men finished the SoCon regular season with a 8-0 record, while the women's team finished 9-0. This is the first time in Southern Conference history that men's and women's soccer teams from the same school both finished undefeated.

Furman University, a liberal arts school of only 2,500 students, is making a lot of noise in the athletics world this fall. While the soccer teams are excelling and continue to march toward the NCAA Tournament, the Paladin football team is 7-2 and fresh off a 28-3 victory over North Carolina. Two weeks ago, Furman athletic teams defeated Clemson, Iowa, and North Carolina as the men's soccer team knocked off the Tigers in front of 2,852 at Eugene Stone Soccer Stadium and the women's team defeated the 23rd-ranked Hawkeyes 1-0.
