BROWNLEE LEADS NATION IN ASSISTS; ALVAREZ, BLOUNT RANK IN MEN'S STATS

GREENVILLE, SC -- Furman women's soccer player Kaye Brownlee is leading the nation in assists per match according to the latest NCAA Statistics released on Tuesday. In addition, Daniel Alvarez and Scott Blount rank in the top twenty in men's statistics.

Brownlee, a sophomore from Kennesaw, Ga., has recorded 13 assists in Furman's first 15 matches. Furman's all-time leader in assists, Brownlee has recorded 32 assists in her career, despite playing only 35 career matches. Last season, she finished second in the nation with 19 assists in 20 matches. Brownlee is currently tied with Mandy Clemons of top ranked Santa Clara for the assists lead.

On the men's side, Daniel Alvarez is eighth in the nation in assists per match with nine assists in his first 13 matches. Just last week, Alvarez became Furman's all-time leader in assists with 34. Goalkeeper Scott Blount's goals against average of 0.64 places him 16th in the county.

In team statistics, the 8th ranked Furman men are 19th in the nation in scoring, 20th in team defense, and 6th in winning percentage. While the women's team places 8th in scoring and 7th in winning percentage.

The Furman men's soccer team is 8th in the nation and hold a 11-1-1 overall record, while the Furman women's soccer team is 8th in the Southeast Region and are 13-2 on the year.
