FURMAN WOMEN'S SOCCER REMAINS SEVENTH IN REgION;

EARNS TOP 30 NATIONAL MARK

GREENVILLE, SC -- The Furman women's soccer team remained seventh in both the NSCAA and Soccer Buzz Southeast Regional Rankings and are ranked 30th in the nation by High Tech Soccer, a women's soccer internet and radio broadcasting outfit, after winning three matches last week. It marks inthe first time in Furman history that the women's soccer team has earned a national ranking.

The Lady Paladins, off to their best start in school history, are 9-1 on the season. Furman downed 1998 SoCon Champ UNC Greensboro 3-0 to take the early lead in the Southern Conference regular season race. Furman and UNCG were co-favorites in the Southern Conference preseason poll. Over the weekend, Furman won the College of Charleston's tournament by defeating Charleston Southern and the College of Charleston.

Furman travels to Columbia for a huge in-state rivalry matchup with South Carolina on Thursday at 7 p.m.
