FURMAN DOWNS WESTERN CAROLINA IN LADY CATAMOUNT'S FIRST WOMEN'S SOCCER GAME
Cullowhee, NC - The Furman women's soccer team downed Western Carolina 3-0 Friday in Culowhee, N.C. The match was the 100th in the history of the six year-old Furman program and the first in Western Carolina women's soccer history.
Scoring for Furman was Melissa Sutton (35:21), Sarah Tollick (63:40), and Melissa Turner (80:44) with assists by Lauren Killey, Katie Carson (2), Natalie Muro and Kaye Brownlee (2). The Lady Paladins mark their first victory of the season.
Furman travels to UNC Wilmington for a 7 p.m. Tuesday match, while Western Carolina will play UNC Asheville on Wednesday, September 1 in Asheville at 4:00 pm.
