KAYE BROWNLEE NAMED PRESEASON ALL AMERICAN

GREENVILLE, SC -- Furman women's soccer standout Kaye Brownlee was selected as an honorable mention preseason All American by College Soccer Online.

Brownlee, a junior midfielder, is already Furman's all-time leader in assists, and is second in career points and third in goals. Last season, she became the first Furman women's soccer player in school history to earn All-America honors, being named a consensus All-American by three different organizations, including first team honors by the NSCAA. Brownlee was among the national leaders in assists with 17 to go along with her 13 goals last fall.

The Lady Paladins begin the 2000 campaign with high expectations after a record setting season in 1999. Furman is coming off its best season in school history as the Lady Paladins earned their first-ever NCAA Tournament bid and posted a 20-3 record last year.

Furman is the preseason favorite to repeat as Southern Conference Champions and is receiving votes in the American Sports Writers preseason poll.

Furman opens the season August 26 against East Tennessee State at Eugene Stone III Soccer Stadium.
