GREENVILLE, SC -- The Furman women's soccer team improved to 19th in the nation in the latest American Soccer Writers (ASW) poll and 20th in the Soccer Buzz national poll this week.
Last week, Furman defeated Appalachian State 6-0 and North Carolina State 3-1 before dropping its first match of the season 1-0 to second ranked Clemson. The Lady Paladins are 10-1 on the season and have defeated two teams from the SEC, one from the ACC, one from the Big East, and one from Conference USA this season.
Dating back to last season, Furman has won 21 of its last 23 matches and 14 straight Southern Conference matches. Furman will travel to Chattanooga on Friday at 7 p.m. and face Western Carolina Sunday at 4 p.m.
In other polls released Monday, the Lady Paladins are ranked sixth in the Southeast Region by the NSCAA, fifth in the Soccer Buzz regional poll, and are receiving votes in the NSCAA national poll.
