GREENVILLE, SC -- The Furman women's soccer team continued its steady climb in the national soccer polls as Furman moved up three spots in the American Soccer Writers National poll and one spot in the Soccer Buzz poll to 13th in the nation in both polls.
Furman concluded its second straight perfect Southern Conference season with two wins last week over UNCG 1-0 and Wofford 6-1. Furman has now won 21 straight Southern Conference matches in a row, the second longest active streak in the nation behind Florida.
Furman's record of 37-4 since the start of the 1999 season is second best in the nation, behind only Nebraska (38-2-2).
The Lady Paladins are 17-1 overall, 9-0 in the Southern Conference and will host South Carolina in its regular season finale Wednesday at 7 p.m. Furman will take on Appalachian State in the first round of the Southern Conference Tournament on Thursday, November 2.
Furman freshman Emily Turgeon continues to lead the nation in points as she now totals 19 goals and 17 assists for 55 points on the year.
