FURMAN SOCCER FINALS ON TV/RADIO

GREENVILLE -- The Furman men's and women's soccer Southern Conference Championship matches on Sunday will be televised by CSS and broadcast by the Furman Sports Network on broadcast.com and on WCSZ 1070 AM. The women's final is slated for 3 p.m., while the men's championship will kickoff at 5:30 p.m.

The Southern Conference soccer finals will be televised on the Comcast/CSS cable network. Comcast can be seen on channel 73 in the Greenville-Spartanburg market.

The Furman Sports Network will be making its inaugural soccer broadcast Sunday as both the men's and women's matches can be heard on broadcast.com in its entirety. To access the broadcast, go to the Furman soccer web site at www.furman.edu/athletics and click on either men's or women's soccer. WCSZ 1070 AM in Upstate South Carolina will pick up the broadcast in progress of the women's match at approx. 4:15 p.m. or at the conclusion of the Tennessee Titans broadcast and carry the men's match in its entirety.

Furman Soccer Sports Information Directors Chris Colvin and Rob Warren will provide play-by-play, while former men's soccer standout Paul Leese will serve as the color commentator.

"Furman soccer has grown so much in popularity over the last few years," said Furman Soccer Sports Information Director Chris Colvin. "We are excited about the opportunity to give Furman soccer fans a new way to follow our nationally ranked programs."

The Furman women will take on UNCG at 3:00 p.m. at Patriots Point in Charleston, S.C. The Lady Paladins are 20-1 on the season and ranked 13th in the nation. Furman has won 23 straight Southern Conference matches dating to the start of the 1999 season. Furman is seeking its second straight SoCon Tournament title and its second straight automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

The Furman men will take on the winner of tonight's Davidson-Appalachian State contest at 5:30 p.m. Furman is 15-3-2 and ranked 12th in the nation. Furman is seeking its ninth SoCon Tournament title.

A win by the Furman women earns them an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, while a win for the men earns a home play-in game against the winner of the Big South Tournament.
