FURMAN WOMEN'S SOCCER RANKED SEVENTH IN REGION

GREENVILLE, SC -- The Furman women's soccer team is ranked seventh in the Southeast Region in polls released today bythe National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and Soccer Buzz. The ranking matches the highest-ever regional ranking for the Lady Paladins in the NSCAA poll.

Furman is off to a 3-0 start on the 2000 season and is fresh off road victories over Georgetown and Vanderbilt. The Lady Paladins downed Georgetown 4-3 as freshmen Emily Turgeon and Danielle Petro combined for two late goals to push Furman to victory. Against Vanderbilt, Furman keeper Melissa Barnes recorded 16 saves en route to a 2-1 victory over the Commodores.

Furman will host Coastal Carolina Tuesday night at Eugene Stone Soccer Stadium at 7 p.m.
