GREENVILLE, SC -- The Furman women's soccer team rose one spot to sixth in both the NSCAA and Soccer Buzz Southeast Region poll on Monday. The ranking is the highest in the history of the program. The Lady Paladins are still receiving votes in the American Soccer Writers national poll and are now also receiving votes in the Soccer Buzz National poll.
Furman is receiving 20 votes in the ASW poll, which places the Lady Paladins 30th in the nation. Furman would place between 26-32 in the country in the Soccer Buzz poll.
Furman is off to its best start in school history with a 6-0 record. The Lady Paladins have defeated teams from the SEC, the Big East, and Conference USA in the first three weeks of the season. Furman is averaging 5.0 goals per match and has not trailed in any match this season.
Furman will host the Umbro Challenge this weekend at Eugene Stone Soccer Stadium with matches against Elon on Friday at 2:15 and against Mississippi State on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
