Brookwood Girls Win Furman Invitational J.V. Title

    GREENVILLE, S.C.-- The Brookwood (Ga.) junior varsity girls team won the Furman Invitational junior varsity title, beating out its nearest opponent Watauga (N.C.) by 15 points. Brookwood, which had three girls finish in the top ten, tallied 54 points, with Watauga finishing second with 69. Lakeside (Ga.) came in third with 121 points, followed by Alexander's (Ga.) 148 and Riverside's 194.

    Megan Drish from Conyers, Ga.'s Heritage High placed first overall with a time of 20:59 in the 3.1 mile race. She was followed by Brookwood's Natalie Nason (21:48), Watauga's Ashley Morris (22:00), Mount Tabor's (N.C.) Mary Ruth Jones (22:11), and Watauga's Danielle Cullen (22:16).
