Crosby, Roberts Named Cross Country Runners of the Week

Greenville, South Carolina -- Furman junior Kevin Crosby and senior Bev Roberts grabbed Southern Conference Runners of the Week honors for October 1. The pair helped Furman to a sweep of The Citadel Invitational last weekend in Charleston, S.C.

Crosby, a native of Matthews, N.C., and graduate of Sun Valley High School, paced the field with a time of 26:19 on the 8K course at James Island County Park. Crosby led a group of five Paladins finishing in the top ten to grab his second runner of the week award this season.

Roberts, a native of Columbia, S.C., led the Lady Paladins with a third place finish. She completed the 5K course in 19:37. The Lady Paladins defeated South Carolina and the College of Charleston for their second win of the year.

The Furman cross country team will host the Furman Invitational on October 12, at the Furman University Golf Course.
