Furman University uses the Bradford Campus Manager (BCM) to ensure that all computers meet the required security standards before they connect to our network. When your computer is plugged into a network port, the BCM will check your system to see if it has been registered with the network. If your machine has not been registered, you will be directed to a site to download the BCM Security Agent. Once installed on your machine the Bradford software will check your computer for the latest operating system updates, and to ensure that you have the latest antivirus updates. If your machine needs updates in either of these areas, you will be directed to a webpage that will instruct you on how to get your machine up to date. If your machine is up to date with operating system updates and antivirus updates, your machine will be certified by the BCM and allowed to connect to our network. Periodically your computer's access to the network will expire. At that time, the BCM will require you to reregister your computer and will rescan your machine to ensure it is still up to date. If your machine is up to date, you will again pass through and connect to the network. If your machine is not up to date, you will have to update your machine before it can connect to the network.
(*Please note you must be on-campus to register with the Bradford Campus Manager.*) If you are on-campus and need help registering with the BCM, please contact the Help Desk at x3277.
