News in the Communication Department

New Faculty Member

The Department of Communication Studies is pleased to announce the addition of Macon L.C.McGinley as an instructor. Ms. McGinley will teach classes in print journalim (COM 27/ENG34) and public speaking (COM 20). Her research interests include the effects of media technologies on society.

Macon McGinley received a Bachelor of Science degree (summ cum laude) from Macon State College in Macon, Georgia, and a Master of Mass Communication degree from the University of Georgia.

Macon will add an international dimension to the department. Her hometown is Burns Lake, British Columbia.

In addition to teaching, Macon likes reading and writing. She particularly enjoys outdoor pursuits such as camping and gardening. Most importantly, Macon delights in a five-year-old daughter, Heather.
