Development of a Journal Review Course Module in Biology | Home | Learn how to use information fluency skills to aid the development of critical thinking skills in your students through the use of a “Journal Review” module in your courses. Dennis Haney, Steve Richardson, and Wade Shepherd Will show you how to do this with the aid of an online tutorial we developed that: (1) teaches students how to find and obtain appropriate and legitimate original research articles using the Furman University library databases (2) discusses ways to train students to effectively evaluate, summarize, and discuss these articles in the classroom, and (3) trains students in the use of the Blackboard course management system to facilitate the collaborative course work that makes this work.
