Southern History Database at Furman University

(The amusingly spirit-possessed version of this page has been relocated to here)

Overview

This is the main page for Furman University's Fall 2006 Southern History Database project. For help with the basics of creating and editing entries in this wiki, see the external page on Wikimedia Editing Basics (http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:Editing). I have also set up a practice page and sandbox for you to use as you learn the basics of how to enter and edit wiki files. For assignment guidelines, see the Syllabus pages (http://facweb.furman.edu/~bensonlloyd/hst41/h41shdb.htm). For guidelines on proper footnote formats see Bridgewater College's Turabian Style Sample Footnotes Guide (http://www.bridgew.edu/Library/turabian.cfm). For lists of events and for mapping, see the SHDB events query form (http://history.furman.edu/shdb/shdbquery2.py). You may want to review the basic structures of the sample entry 1856:Sumner_Caning For information on the syntax of footnotes/endnotes, see the footnote syntax example page. There is also now a [| Union List of SHDB wiki entries (http://facweb.furman.edu/~bensonlloyd/hst41/shdbwiki.htm)] showing all submissions in one place.
