journal published quarterly by the College and University Faculty Assembly,
an arm of the National Council of Social Studies. Articles are peer reviewed
, and issues also focus on various themes.
Journal of Social Education-
Scholarly journal published twice a year by the Indiana Council for the
Social Studies/ Issues are built around special topics such as "Building
Digital Bridges for Global Understanding " found in the Fall/ Winter 2004-5
Social Studies- Peer
reviewed journal aimed at Social Studies educators at all levels. It is
a bimonthly publication put out by Heldref Publications. The articles cover
a variety of topics and also include book reviews of note in the field.
Education- Magazine published by the National Council of Social Studies
and comes with dues paid to the organization. It comes seven times a year
and is also built around special topics. It is mostly geared toward secondary
level teachers, although other social studies educators would also benefit
from its content.
Level Learner- Magazine also published by the
National Council of Social Studies. Comes out four times a year.

Educational Research Journal- Scholarly journal published by AERA.
Quarterly. Articles are divided into two sections: Social and Institutional
Analysis and Teaching, Learning, and Human Development.
Leadership Journal published eight times a year by ASCD. Contains
feature articles and editorials on a variety of subjects concerning teaching
Bulletin- Journal put out primarily for Middle School and High School
administrators on a variety of school topics. Example: Nov. 1999: Teacher
and Student Rights.
Delta Kappan- Journal published ten times a year by the Phi Delta
Kappa International society, an organization whose goal is to maintain
and enhance public education. Articles deal with current research and
issues in education. Linda Darling-Hammond and Eliot Eisner are on the
