Anthropology and archaeology--anthropology is the study of human culture, and archaeology is a subfield of that study that focuses on past cultures and the material remains of those cultures. This encompasses the ideas surrounding this position--theories of the purpose of civilization, fertility cults, and even the Perseus Project.
