Use product rule to obtain probability of different genotypes in a dihybrid cross

• Determine the joint probability of alleles from different genes in the same gamete:

  P (R & Y) = P(R) X P(Y) = 1/2 X 1/2 = 1/4
  
  P (R & y) = P(R) X P(y) = 1/2 X 1/2 =1/4
  P (r & Y) = P(r) X P(Y) = 1/2 X 1/2 =1/4
  P (r & y) = P(r) X P(y) = 1/2 X 1/2 =1/4
