This page includes links to Chaucer bibliographies, Chaucer pages, Middle English pages, and general literature resources and metapages. There is a lot of information out there, and this is only a small sampling. Please let me know if you find other sites that are particularly useful. Please also keep in mind that any old fool can post his or her thoughts about Chaucer (or anything else) on the web. Remain skeptical; T. Michael Kelly's Criteria: Guide to Evaluating Sources gives some good suggestions about evaluating the credibility of web resources. My making a link to a site does not constitute an endorsement of everything you might find there.

NB: The MLA bibliography is useful for literary and linguistic searches in general. Furman students can access the MLA bibliography on line through the library's English resources page.

Chaucer Bibliographies

• Studies in the Age of Chaucer Bibliography from University of Texas-San Antonio. This is a telnet connection. After you connect, you will get a prompt to enter your application request. Type library. Then follow the directions to do your search. More complicated directions for using the SAC bibliography can be found at UNC.
• Chaucer Review Bibliography from Peter G. Beidler and Martha A. Kalnin. A bibliography for the Chaucer Review, a journal we carry at the Furman library.
• CHAUCER: A Semi-systematic, Serendipitous Bibliography from Alan Baragona at VMI. This is a on-line bibliography of print resources. It is as Baragona describes it. He also has links to other on-line bibliographies on his Chaucer home page.
• Chaucer An Annotated Guide to Online Resources by David Wilson-Okamura. This is the site from which I got the trick about Amazon UK.

• The Chaucer Metapage site is a collection of Chaucer pages and links to other resources.
• Luminarium is a beautifully presented web site focusing on Middle English literature. You can go directly to the Chaucer site, which includes a page of links to on-line essays about Chaucer's works.
