| The first of five lions harvested in North Dakota's 2005-2006 experimental cougar hunting season. According to the NDG&FD, this hunt helped establish that the puma has recolonised the Badlands region as a breeding species in recent years. This lion was taken NW of Grassy Butte on Weds.(11/16/05); it was a 92 pound female, approximately 2 ½ - 3 yrs. of age. Courtesy of North Dakota Game and Fish Department.
