HOW TO FIND IMAGES OF MOTHS IF YOU KNOW THEIR NAMES OR CHECKLIST NUMBERS1. If you want to view the lists of pictured moth species, click HERE. You will be asked to choose a list according to family. On each list, every species name is followed by a link to the site where the images (and often verbal descriptions) are displayed.
For each list, if you know the name of a species that you want to view (either scientific name or common English name), use your web browser's "Find" tool (typically located in the "Edit" menu).
Families and species are presented in the arrangement found in
Check
List of the Lepidoptera of America North of Mexico, edited by Ronald
W. Hodges and others (E. W.
Classey Ltd. London, 1983).
