Butterflies and Moths of Southern Vancouver Island--Jeremy B. Tatum

Coleophora vancouverensis

This species is much smaller than C. eleagnisella, and the case made by its caterpillar is a "cigar case" rather than a "pistol case." It feeds on the flowers and heads of the sticky Gumweed Grindelia integrifolia, and at present it is apparently known only from Vancouver Island.
