ESSAY #1 – SOCIAL WELLNESS - FALL 2007

GENERAL GUIDELINES:

  1. The essay should be 2-3 pages in length. This means you should use the entire second page or spill to a third page.
  2. The essay is worth 20 points.
  3. Grammar is worth 5 points.
  4. Organization and flow is worth 5 points.
  5. Content (addressing all areas of the essay) is worth 10 points.
  6. The essay is due by Sunday, September 23 at class time.

The first two people that Eddie meets in heaven are the Blue Man and the Army Captain. Each of these individuals has impacted his life in a different way. For this essay, select one individual who has made a profound influence on your life (must be someone who lived during your lifetime that you had a relationship with for a significant amount of time). This person may be a family member, friend, teacher, coach, or other mentor. Describe why you consider this person to be so influential in your life. This essay should include some biographical information about the person, your interaction with them, how their influence has impacted you up to this point in your life, and how the influence may impact you in the future.

As you develop your thoughts, you must reference the book TWO separate times in different parts of your essay, explaining the connection to what you have read in The Five People You Meet in Heaven. For this essay, you may reference the book from pp 1-96.
