You have been reading about the renewal of Mitch’s relationship with Morrie as well as about Morrie’s physical condition with ALS. Granted Morrie did not “cause” his illness per se, but we begin to see how his physical health will be impacted by this disease. At the outset of the course, it is important for you to assess your current health status as well as consider your future health status assuming you are fortunate enough to avoid major diseases and accidents. While diseases like ALS cannot be prevented, many diseases can be prevented by positive health habits on your part. To gain more perspective on your current status, visit the following website and completing the “Longevity Game”:

As you summarize your results from this analysis, make THREE references in different parts of your essay, explaining the connection to what you have read in Tuesdays With Morrie. For this essay, you may reference the book from pp 1-89. You may tie some of the themes that Mitch and Morrie discuss into your essay provided they make sense.

Ideas for the essay include - What factors in your life need the most improvement? What factors are you doing a good job with right now? How do you intend to improve the areas that need help, or do you think it will be too difficult to change these areas? You could describe an experience that has positively impacted your physical health, and describe an experience that has negatively impacted your health.
