Belted Kingfishers are year-round residents
at Furman University. They are highly visible on campus, often calling
loudly as they fly across Furman Lake. However, the population density is
quite low. During spring and summer, only one pair can typically be found
around the perimeter of Furman Lake. During the summer of 2008, a second
pair was found on the pond at the golf course. |
