It is difficult to
distinguish Sharp-shinned Hawks from Cooper's Hawks in the field.
Sharp-shinned Hawks are usually smaller than Cooper's Hawks, but their
sizes overlap considerably. Based on rough size estimates and the high
probability of both species' occurrence on campus, both species have been
included on the campus list. Sharp-shinned Hawks are presumed to be
slightly less common than Cooper's Hawks at Furman. |
