Green Herons are common
throughout the summer months. Upwards of four adult pairs were reliably
relocated throughout the summer of 2008. These skittish birds prefer to
stay around water, and have been seen foraging around the perimeter of
every body of water on campus. One pair was observed nesting in the small
woodlot between the Furman Golf Course pond and the course management
area. In 2009, the first Green Heron arrived on 4/17. |
