Furman Lake is home to one
resident Greylag Goose, which can often be seen fraternizing with the
domestic ducks. This species is native to Europe and Asia, but is a common
domesticated farm-animal world-wide. Furman's resident probably escaped
from home or was abandoned at the lake. These birds
sometimes hybridize with Canada
Geese. |
