Travel Study in Rome

Financial Information

This page will be updated as more information is available. Our intention is to plan activities that let us get the very best from our time and effort, while taking care to avoid unnecessary expenses. The trip will cost approximately $3000 over the cost of attending Furman on campus next Winter.

Travel Study Fees

Your bill for the trip will be paid through the business office, just like your regular terms at Furman. In addition to the fee charged by the travel agent, you must enroll in Furman's comprehensive healthcare plan.

Food Expenses

The official cost of the trip includes breakfast and dinner each day, and occasional lunches. You will generally responsible for lunch and snacks of your choosing. Breakfast will generally be small (ever hear of "continental breakfast"?), and dinner will generally feature lots of excellent food.

Incidental Expenses

All of your tolls, tips, entry fees, etc., are covered in the official cost, but you will need to pay for things you do during your free time and independent travel.

Check back here for more information about how much spending money you should plan on bringing, how to split your money between cash, traveler's check, ATM, and credit purchases, and other things.
